The Chetaldo Foundation has always been guided by compassion and a deep commitment to those most in need. As we look ahead, our mission is evolving with an even stronger emphasis on children – especially orphans and semi-orphans – while continuing to build bridges across generations. This shift in focus has been shaped by two profound events in 2025. In the summer, Chetai’s sister passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Zimbabwe, leaving behind her husband and three young children. This heartbreaking loss made it painfully clear how vital it is to provide not only material support, but also psychological care for children who have lost a parent. The wellbeing and future of these children depend on more than shelter and sustenance – they need healing, guidance, and hope. In the same year, Chetai met Christian, who has since become an invaluable supporter of the Foundation. Having lost both parents at the age of 12, Christian knows firsthand the challenges faced by orphaned children. He was fortunate to be embraced by family, and his life experience gives him unique insight into what grieving children need most. Together, these experiences have inspired the Chetaldo Foundation to place children at the very heart of its mission. Through the planned Chetaldo Foundation Centre, we will create a home and a place of belonging for orphaned children, while also fostering intergenerational connections with the elderly to nurture empathy, resilience, and community. With this renewed vision, we remain committed to ensuring that no child is forgotten, and that every child has the chance to grow with dignity, love, and opportunity.
