Founded on May 10th, 2022, by Miss Chetai M. Chikavhu, the Chetaldo Foundation was born from a place of deep compassion and personal experience. After serving as a caregiver to Mrs. Jennifer Anne Solomon, Miss Chikavhu discovered that caregiving was not just a duty - it was her life’s calling. This profound journey inspired her to create a foundation dedicated to advocating for the elderly and the vulnerable in our communities. At first, the Foundation’s mission focused on restoring dignity, comfort, and joy to the elderly - ensuring they received not only basic necessities and medical care, but also the love, respect, and companionship every person deserves. Through training caregivers, providing in-home support, and envisioning a dedicated care centre for frail seniors, Chetaldo laid the groundwork for a community rooted in empathy and service. In 2025, life brought both heartbreak and new purpose. The sudden passing of Chetai’s sister in Zimbabwe - leaving behind her husband and three young children - deeply moved her to extend the Foundation’s mission to orphaned and semi-orphaned children. This painful experience revealed the urgent need for emotional and psychological support for grieving children. Around the same time, Chetai met Christian, who lost both parents at the age of twelve and became a passionate supporter of the Foundation. His story reaffirmed how vital it is to give every child hope, guidance, and a sense of belonging. Today, the Chetaldo Foundation stands as a bridge between generations - creating safe spaces where orphaned children and the elderly come together, share experiences, and enrich one another’s lives. Our vision remains rooted in compassion: to nurture the young, honour the old, and build communities of healing and hope. With open hearts and unwavering purpose, we continue to serve - offering care, counselling, and connection to those most in need. Together, we are building a future where no child is forgotten, no elder is left behind, and love remains the foundation of all we do.

Her vision was clear from an early age: to one day establish a non-profit organization that would bring comfort, hope, and dignity to those in need. That dream found its true direction in 2019, when Chetai became a caregiver to Mrs. Jennifer Solomons during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Walking through hardship and vulnerability with Jennie ignited a deep calling within her - a passion to become a champion for the elderly and a voice for the forgotten.Today, as the founder of the Chetaldo Foundation, Miss Chikavhu pours her unwavering dedication into creating safe, joyful, and supportive spaces for the elderly, the homeless, and underserved women and youth.
